Privacy Policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
The short version: your photos and stickers are processed and stored on your iPhone, not on our servers. We don't sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps. We use a few services to run subscriptions, count usage and fix crashes, and they only see a random ID, not your name or email.
Who we are
holos ("holos", "we", "us") makes the holos: Sticker Maker app for iPhone and iPad, its iMessage sticker extension, and the website holosstickers.com. Questions about privacy: holosapp@proton.me.
Photos, camera and your stickers
- Only what you choose. holos reads the photos you pick or take. During the first-run setup it may look through your library on the device to suggest good photos; with limited access it only sees the photos you allowed.
- Processed on your device. Cutting out people, pets and objects uses Apple's on-device Vision framework. Your photos are not uploaded to us.
- Stored on your device. Your packs and stickers are saved in the app's storage on your device (and in your device backups, according to your iCloud settings). Deleting the app deletes them.
- Sharing is up to you. When you send stickers to Messages, WhatsApp, Telegram or another app, or save them to Photos, that app's own privacy policy applies to what you send.
- Motion sensors are used on the device to make holographic stickers shimmer when you tilt your phone. Motion data never leaves the device.
Information we collect
- App usage events, such as screens opened, tools and effects used, packs downloaded, exports and paywall views, with your device model, iOS version, app version, language and approximate region (country, derived from your IP address). We use Google Firebase Analytics and Mixpanel for this.
- Crash and performance reports (what went wrong in the app, device and app details) through Google Firebase Crashlytics.
- Subscription status. Purchases are made through Apple; we never see your payment details or Apple ID. Adapty receives your App Store purchase information to unlock holos Pro and keep your subscription status in sync.
- Sticker Market. When you browse or download Market packs, the app loads them from our servers (Google Firebase and Cloudflare) and records anonymous download counts.
- App settings from our servers. Firebase Remote Config lets us change some app settings without an update.
This information is linked to a random identifier created by the app (your Adapty profile ID), not to your name, email or phone number. holos doesn't use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How we use it
- To run the app and its features, including the Market and holos Pro.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs.
- To understand which features people use, so we can improve them.
- To prevent fraud and abuse of purchases.
If you are in the EU, UK or a similar jurisdiction, we rely on performing our contract with you (running the app and your subscription) and on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run parts of holos for us, under their own privacy and security terms: Apple (App Store and in-app purchases), Google Firebase (analytics, crash reports, remote settings, Market catalog), Mixpanel (analytics), Adapty (subscriptions) and Cloudflare (website, Market files). We don't sell or rent personal information and don't share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it. These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
The website
holosstickers.com doesn't use tracking cookies or ads. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when you visit.
How long we keep it
Analytics and crash data are kept only as long as they are useful for the purposes above and are then deleted or anonymized, according to each provider's retention settings. Your stickers stay on your device until you delete them or the app.
Your choices and rights
- Change photo, camera and motion access at any time in iOS Settings › holos.
- Delete the app to remove your stickers and the app's data from your device.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or California law), you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, or object to its use. Email holosapp@proton.me; we may ask for details to find the data linked to your device.
- You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
holos is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the new version on this page and change the date above.
